Stress is Permeating Our Lives

STRESS IS PERMEATING OUR LIVES

Stress is such an accepted part of our life that we “forget” how stressed we are.  We live in a world of constant distraction from social media, cell phones, tablets and non-stop entertainment/information.  Like the metaphor of the frog in the boiling water… if you put the frog in when it is hot it immediately jumps out, but if you put it in when it is cold and then slowly turn up the heat it never realizes how hot it is getting.

Here is a “Rethink”- It is important to allow yourself to take breaks, unplug, and reset.

This may mean taking a break from social media
1.    Stop watching or listening to the news
2.   Put away your phone for a time.
3.   Take a weekend away without technology

Any type of “time out” will allow us to reset and see how much things are controlling us as opposed to us controlling things.  Allow yourself to reset to what your brain may be begging for… a rest!!
